Computer Access, Internet Access, Printing & Copying

The Library offers free use of computers with internet access and Microsoft Office for adults and children.  We have recently introduced a new method of logging into these computers: patrons are required to visit the Reference Desk to fill out a form to create a Username and Password.

  • The Username and Password may both be any length and contain whatever characters (letters, numbers, and other symbols) the patron desires.
  • You are not required to provide any identification when creating your Username and Password.
  • The same Username may not be used be more than one patron.
  • Both Usernames and Passwords are case-sensitive—capital and lowercase letters must be typed the same as they were written.
  • Usernames and Passwords are stored locally on a computer dedicated to this purpose that cannot be accessed outside of the library.
  • Our staff cannot view a Password once it has been saved in our system. We can only reset it to a different Password, or create a new Username and Password.

These computers allow you to print a black and white copy at a cost of 15 cents per page, or in color for 35 cents per page.
There is also free wireless access (“WiFi”).

The Library has a self-serve copying machine that accepts coins and one or five dollar bills for payment; the cost is 15 cents per a page.  Photocopying is available in black and white only.

For more details about these services, call 914-591-7840 during regular library hours and ask for a Reference librarian.
