The New York Transit Museum Gallery & Store at Grand Central

Located in the Shuttle Passage Upper Level of Grand Central.
If you have a train lover, the train ride itself is quite the entertainment. As a bonus, once you’re on the train, you’re indoors for the whole trip! (Train ride + “getting” to the gallery inside GCT.)

Metro North Train Discount information for small groups, from Group travel on LIRR and Metro-North
- Ages 5-11: Family Fare allows up to four children (ages 5-11) to travel with each fare paying adult for $1 each way.
- Ages 12-64: Off-Peak Ten Trip tickets can be shared. These offer a 15% discount on individual tickets.
- Age 65+: Senior Fares offer a 50% discount on off-peak fares. (These are not available for travel during morning peak hours.)

One of the largest and most respected academic art institutions in the country, more than 202,000 (and counting) schoolchildren have also toured the Neuberger Museum of Art. O’Hara Nature Center Gardens — or exploring the Irvington Woods and its trails!

Go geocaching! Rockefeller State Park Preserve, for example, has a seasonal series of geocaches, as do many other locations in our area. You’ll need an account to search the existing geocaches, but we’re certain there must be some in and around Irvington! A little further away, this one between Pocantico Hills and Kykuit is popular.
